Chronic health issues precipitate from a myriad of origins. Noticeably, a common set of causes appear to be–cumulative repair deficits, oxidative damage, metabolic acidosis and above all – a burdened immune system. A tolerant immune system is essential to well-being. When preoccupied and burdened with defense, repair is deferred, resulting in inflammation that can be more aptly termed as “repair deficit.”
Increased intestinal permeability occurs when repair is deferred in the microbiome. People then become hospitable to chronic autoimmune and degenerative illnesses like diabetes, thyroiditis, fibromyalgia, migraines, and other expressions of acquired self-attack. We see that this deferred repair can be due to a loss of oral tolerance which in turn can be caused by individual specific antigen burden. Exploring this immunopathogenesis hypothesis deeper, the presentation will elaborate on a patient specific immune repair program established to help restore tolerance, repair ability and to achieve sustained remissions in chronic autoimmune and immune dysfunction conditions.
