Breakthrough research is providing us with insights into how to lower our risk for Alzheimer’s and dementia. Recently, we could not scientifically say we could lower our risk of developing Alzheimer’s and dementia, but now there is real excitement in this field as we now have science based understanding on how to lower our risks.

In addition, Alzheimer’s disease can appear in an individual’s brain decades before they develop symptoms. This critical insight gives us time and an opportunity to lower risk of developing the devastating symptoms.

One in 9 adults over the age of 65 in the United States has Alzheimer’s disease. The personal and financial costs of Alzheimer’s disease are devastating. In 2017, Alzheimer’s disease will cost the United States 259 billion. The costs are projected to rise to 1.1 trillion dollars in 2050.

This is a critical time to update health care providers on the latest research that can lower the risk of developing symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.

This presentation was recorded at the 2018 Integrative Healthcare Symposium Annual Conference.
