New Clinical Trial Published in Nutrients Examines Muno IgY® and Immune Related Outcomes

Calgary, Alberta, Canada – February 18, 2026 – IGY Immune Technologies & Life Sciences Inc. (“IGY Life Sciences”) is pleased to announce the publication of its latest clinical research in the peer-reviewed journal Nutrients, published by MDPI.

The 12-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot trial evaluated the effects of Muno-IgY® supplementation on markers of immune function, respiratory wellness, exercise-related physiological stress, and gut microbiome profiles in healthy adults.

Muno-IgY® is a targeted Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) ingredient derived from hen egg yolk and developed to support normal gut and immune function through selective binding interactions within the gastrointestinal tract.

Key observations from the study included:

  • Trends toward reduced frequency of self-reported upper respiratory symptoms in the study population
  • Significantly higher serum Immunoglobulin A (IgA) levels 24 hours following standardized exercise, indicating enhanced immune responsiveness following physiological stress
  • Favorable reductions in lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), a biomarker associated with exercise-induced muscle stress
  • Supportive shifts in gut microbiome composition
  • A strong safety and tolerability profile throughout the 12-week supplementation period

Importantly, Muno-IgY® supplementation was well tolerated, with no serious adverse events reported.

“This publication represents an important step in advancing the scientific understanding of IgY supplementation in healthy adults,” said Dr. Paul E. Kilgore, co author of the study. “While this was a pilot study and not powered for definitive efficacy conclusions, the consistent trends observed across immune, respiratory, and exercise-related endpoints support further research.”

The study explored the role of orally administered IgY as a nutritional strategy designed to support immune balance and resilience. IgY antibodies are known for their ability to bind selectively to microbial targets without broadly disrupting commensal bacteria, offering a differentiated approach to supporting the gut-immune axis.

The authors note that larger, well-powered trials are warranted to further evaluate these preliminary findings.

The study was conducted by SGS Nutrasource and authored by Shahna Fathima, Paul E. Kilgore, Tina Sarkar, Navneet Sharma, and Huan H. Nguyen. The full manuscript is available in the peer-reviewed journal Nutrients (2026, 18, 524).
