Exposure to environmental toxins can have some serious health implications not only for the patients, but also for the nurses who care for them. Nursing’s legacy, past and present, has always played a role in environmental health advocacy and in creating healthier communities, local to global. Today, with mounting research on how our environment influences health throughout the lifecycle, how do we, as nurses and as health educators, integrate this often missing link into our practice.
