Meg Jordan, PhD, RN, CWP

Meg Jordan, PhD, RN, CWPProf. Jordan is Department Chair, Integrative Health Studies and Somatic Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.  She is a clinical medical anthropologist, and a registered nurse specializing in behavioral health and integrative practice, and an award-winning health journalist.  She serves on the board of the National Wellness Institute and the Leadership team of the National Consortium for Credentialing Health and Wellness Coaches. She has received numerous awards for her academic work and a recent grant from Aetna Foundation for bringing integrative wellness coaching to underserved populations. Her area of focus as a medical anthropologist involves research on multidisciplinary, collaborative care models and negotiations among healers of disparate traditions. She was Director of Integrative Practice at the Health Medicine Institute, and is author of several health and wellness books, editor and founder of American Fitness Magazine, former health commentator for CNN and NBC Today Show, and KTVU-San Francisco, and an international presenter on cultural trends in health and wellness. She earned the Certified Wellness Professional ranking from the National Wellness Institute for contributions to the field.
