This lecture will focus on several plants that are essential in immune function, with attention paid to herbs for upper respiratory issues, those to support seasonal immune challenges, and plants for general whole body immune function. *Reference to historical uses as well as evidence-based modern studies will be used to offer guidelines for use including indications, contraindications and dosing. Herbs to be discussed: Echinacea, goldenseal, elderberry, andrographis and astragalus.
