John Furlong

John Furlong is a 1985 graduate of Bastyr University. Ten years of practicing naturopathy in a collaborative setting with acupuncture, SoTai, and massage therapy offerings were followed with six years as clinical laboratory educator with Genova diagnostics specializing in detoxification, preventive cardiology, and hormonal and genomic testing development.

Dr. Furlong has presented at national and international conferences on nutrition and naturopathic phytotherapy, integrative interventions in autism, and teaches a D.C. diplomate course in pediatric nutrition. Currently teaching and acting as clinical supervisor for third and fourth year students at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, he maintains a 15 year direct-pay hybrid practice of general naturopathic medicine.

Apart from recharging in the woodlands of the Last Green Valley area of eastern Connecticut, he aspires to a state of sustainable wellness via playing the Beautiful Game, acknowledging the Healing Power of Nature, and having much, much appreciation of three wonderful children, one grandson, two sisters, fantastic friends, and marvelous partner in adventure, Antonella, who reminds him of the value in taking a break now and then.
