True North Health Center

True North is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) health care practice and research organization devoted to integrating state-of-the-art medical care with proven complementary therapies. We provide a patient-centered environment that allows enough time for a partnership to develop between patient and practitioner.We believe a healthier model of health care is based on:

• Viewing health as a positive vitality, not merely the absence of disease
• Providing enough time for patients and practitioners to meet together to establish trust and allow the full details of a person’s history to unfold
• Providing a way for physicians and complementary therapists to collaborate, which gives our patients access to the best combination of appropriate therapies
• Offering a Functional Medicine approach to treat the underlying causes of illness through highly individualized therapies
• Providing a physical environment designed to emphasize healing, partnership, and relaxation.

Our Model: Our model is based on the idea that anywhere in the country, you can find a group of like-minded practitioners who want to offer health care in an integrative setting. The core elements of our model include:

• Patients and practitioners using their time together to develop a relationship of trust
• Individualized treatments created based on appropriate therapies
• Integrated health records (charts) to provide maximum access for collaboration/integration
• A nonhierarchical form called circle process is used to govern the organization
• An emphasis on Functional Medicine as a medical model that mirrors our integrative approach
• Removing barriers to care (ex. insurance provider) while enhancing the doctor-patient relationship
