Based at Thomas Jefferson University’s Main Campus, our academic program promotes research and educational activities related to integrative medicine. Researchers study health outcomes of all patients treated through our programs. Collaborative study protocols are developed with Jefferson clinical investigators and basic scientists. Our academic program has been providing professional education programs in integrative medicine for physicians, medical students, nurses and other health providers since 1995. Physicians and staff at the Jefferson Myrna Brind Center participate in the education of future doctors at Jefferson Medical College through lectures, full courses, and special training programs. Integrative medicine theory and approaches are included in the training of every Jefferson graduate.
Our Academic Mission
The Center contributes to the growth of knowledge about integrating complementary therapies through educational and research activities. Jefferson medical students, residents, and fellows spend time at the Center in order to learn more about integrative medicine. Our physicians and therapists often lecture to professional and public audiences. We also conduct research on the health benefits of integrative medicine.
