Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic is a state licensed health clinic providing free complementary alternative medical treatments to low-income women with cancer.

Our services include acupuncture, Chinese herbs, Western herbs, homeopathy, massage, and therapeutic imagery. We offer relief from the terrible side effects of cancer and its treatments — pain, nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite — and enhance the immune systems and the quality of life of our clients.

Complementary alternative medical (CAM) treatments are rarely covered under health care plans. Without the services provided by the CMCC, low-income women with cancer would not have access to these beneficial treatments.

The Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic is a community of dedicated women volunteers who have diverse skills and experiences. We are healthcare practitioners and healthcare advocates; we are community organizers; we are lesbians and straight women. We are unified in our goal of offering complementary alternative medicine treatments to women with cancer who are underserved and share the following beliefs and goals.

Over 275 wonderful, caring volunteer practitioners make the Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) treatments and support services provided by CMCC possible.  There is no shortage of volunteer opportunities at CMCC.  There are approximately 610 clients at any given time, all needing CAM treatments and support services, now in two locations.
