ACAOMFounded in 1991 and based in Houston, ACAOM has grown from an independent academy to a leading acupuncture and herbology school in the country. ACAOM has been featured on the PBS show The Connection, and was voted one of the top four schools in the country by TCM Student in 2003.

The ACAOM offers degree and non-degree options.  A Master of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine is available.

Through its cooperation with Memorial Hermann/Houston Baptist University Wellness Center, Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital Outpatient Clinic, Methodist Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University, and University of Houston Clear Lake Health Center and Legacy Community Health Center, the College is one of the most respected and integrative minded of its kind. Its four China hospital agreements allow students to study abroad, and its cooperation with multiple clinics around the city allow acupuncture to be delivered to patients in need as part of its community service program.

The ACAOM program was designed for adult learners. That means evening courses that fit your work schedule, personalized attention, and smaller classes. The learning experience is challenging and the training practical. You can take courses at your own pace, and advisors will help you choose courses according to your current commitments.

During the last year of the program, interns treat over 350 patients with varied conditions ranging from pain to internal medical disorders. This allows students to have real-life practical knowledge. In a 2005 survey, over 80% of ACAOM graduates have their own practice, conducting research, or working with other healthcare practitioners.
